Community Service
Students will gain valuable career and vocational insight through community service. Colleges seek well-rounded students — not those only good with grades, but also those who demonstrate their priorities through service to their community.
Students can obtain community service hours by volunteering at local hospitals, schools, community centers or other non-profit organizations. Several activities, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities offered at East Aurora High School have a community service-based component.Most EAHS administrative offices (the Main Office, Guidance Office, Athletic Office, 115, 089, The Freshmen Center Office, and the REC) have opportunities for student volunteers to earn community service hours during their lunch periods. Interested students should contact the secretaries at each office location to inquire about possibilities.
Students that earn over 120 documented Community Service hours are invited to Senior Honors Night and awarded a Silver Cord to be worn at graduation.
