Letter from the Principal

My name is Kevin Marten and I am proud to share that I will be the principal of East Aurora High School starting in the 2026-2027 school year. For the past seven years, East Aurora High School has been my home. I have celebrated our students' accomplishments, watched graduates return to share their success stories, and witnessed the resilience and pride that define the Tomcat community. It is an incredible honor to begin serving as your principal and I am excited for everything that we will accomplish together. 

Our work this year is centered on three commitments: helping every student become a stronger communicator, a more confident problem-solver, and a valued member of our school community where all of our students feel that they belong. 

First, we are committed to ensuring every student develops strong literacy skills, because reading, writing, speaking, and listening are the foundation for success in every classroom and every career. Second, we are committed to building confident mathematical thinkers who approach challenges with curiosity, persistence, and creativity.

Problem-solving is a life skill, and we want every Tomcat to graduate prepared for college, career, and the opportunities that await them. Finally, we are committed to creating a culture where every student feels seen, valued, and connected. Learning happens best when students know they belong and have caring adults who believe in their potential. Together we will continue to build a school community where everyone is welcomed and respected. 

I begin this new role with great optimism for what lies ahead. Our students are capable of remarkable things, our staff is deeply committed to their success, and our community believes in the power of public education. By working together and holding high expectations for ourselves and one another, we will continue to make East Aurora High School a place where every Tomcat belongs, learns, and thrives. 

The strongest schools are built through partnership. Whether you're attending a performance, cheering from the sidelines, volunteering, or simply asking your student about their day, you are an essential part of their success. I look forward to working alongside you as we continue building a school where every Tomcat has the opportunity to thrive.
