Advanced Placement (AP) Course Information
East Aurora High School offers 27 Advanced Placement (AP) courses that are open to all students. The Advanced Placement program is a sequence of college-level courses taught in high schools by high school teachers trained by the College Board. The culmination of each course is the AP exam, offered in May at the end of the school year. Students can potentially earn college credit based on their performance on the exam.

AP Capstone
East Aurora High School offers students the opportunity to earn an AP Capstone Diploma. AP Capstone is a diploma program from the College Board. Students take two yearlong AP courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. These courses develop students’ skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting. Students who complete the two-year program can earn one of two different AP Capstone awards, which are valued by universities across the United States and around the world:
- The AP Capstone Diploma is granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on 4 additional AP Exams of their choosing.
- The AP Seminar and Research Certificate is granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.
