Developing a 4 Year Plan for Course Selection
Students are encouraged to think of every course selection, from choosing freshman year classes while still in 8th grade to junior students picking the classes for their 12th grade year that will close out their academic experience at EAHS, as one of several steps that help a student move through high school, to graduation, and then towards a pathway beyond their experiences at East. Those pathways, once identified, may lead students to a 4-year college or university, a community college or vocational training program, a term of volunteer or military service, a trade apprenticeship, or even directly into a career field.
East Aurora has a comprehensive curriculum of both core academic and elective courses designed to help students explore, identify, and prepare for the future that awaits them after their East High graduation. Every Tomcat is encouraged to work closely with their counselors and teachers to carefully select classes that will provide them with the best options to pursue their unique future opportunities.
The EAHS Course Catalog provides thorough information about the minimum graduation requirements to earn an East Aurora High School diploma, as well as recommended tracks for students based on the post-secondary options they would like to pursue. EAHS also offers new ISBE approved career pathways and special certifications in addition to our well established Early College, Advanced Placement, and Articulated/Dual Credit course options.
