Course Selection through StudentVUE for 25/26Selección de cursos a través de StudentVUE para el 25/26

Among the many exciting changes at East Aurora High School in the 2025/2026 school year, EAHS transitioned to Synergy for its Student Information System. Moving to this new platform has allowed the school administration to reenvision the process by which students choose courses for their following year of high school. Formerly known as the Advise & Sign process, students this year participated in a new method of Course Selection. Students were able to use their StudentVUE portal of the Synergy platform to actually select their desired courses for the following year directly in the system. At the same time, many of the student’s core academic classes were already preloaded for them by the high school Administration based on multiple factors such as student year in school, previous course enrollment, as well a previous testing and academic performance. This allowed students to focus more directly on elective course options when adding their requests to Synergy.

Presentations were given to all students by the Counseling Department to prepare them for Course Selection. Counselors were also available on an ongoing basis to answer any questions or address any concerns students had when participating in the process. East students had through Friday, January 31 to complete their Course Selection. Counselors will then work with the information entered by the students to ensure that the course requests will ultimately lead to a complete and comprehensive schedules for the 2025/2026 school year. While students will not be able to edit their course requests after January 31, should they or their families have any questions about their choices, they are encouraged to reach out directly to their counselor. Counselors will continue to have the ability to make adjustments to the course requests as necessary.

Entre los muchos cambios interesantes en East Aurora High School en el año escolar 2025/2026, EAHS hizo la transición a Synergy para su Sistema de Información Estudiantil. Pasar a esta nueva plataforma ha permitido a la administración de la escuela repensar el proceso mediante el cual los estudiantes eligen cursos para el siguiente año de escuela secundaria. Anteriormente conocido como proceso de Asesorar y Firmar, este año los estudiantes participaron en un nuevo método de Selección de Cursos. Los estudiantes pudieron utilizar su portal StudentVUE de la plataforma Synergy para seleccionar los cursos deseados para el año siguiente directamente en el sistema. Al mismo tiempo, muchas de las clases académicas básicas de los estudiantes ya estaban precargadas por la administración de la escuela secundaria en función de múltiples factores, como el año estudiantil en la escuela, la inscripción en cursos anteriores, así como pruebas previas y rendimiento académico. Esto permitió a los estudiantes centrarse más directamente en las opciones de cursos optativos al agregar sus solicitudes a Synergy.

El Departamento de Consejería realizó presentaciones a todos los estudiantes para prepararlos para la selección de cursos. Los consejeros también estuvieron disponibles de manera continua para responder cualquier pregunta o abordar cualquier inquietud que los estudiantes tuvieran al participar en el proceso. Los estudiantes de East tenían hasta el viernes 31 de enero para completar su selección de cursos. Luego, los consejeros trabajarán con la información ingresada por los estudiantes para garantizar que las solicitudes de cursos conduzcan en última instancia a horarios completos e integrales para el año escolar 2025/2026. Si bien los estudiantes no podrán editar sus solicitudes de cursos después del 31 de enero, si ellos o sus familias tienen alguna pregunta sobre sus opciones, se les recomienda comunicarse directamente con su consejero. Los consejeros seguirán teniendo la capacidad de hacer ajustes a las solicitudes de cursos según sea necesario.
