Distinguished alumni honored at banquetGraduados distinguidos reconocidos en el banquete

Two distinguished Tomcat alumni were honored on December 21 as the newest members of the East Aurora High School Distinguished Alumni.

The late Robert E. “Bob” Brent (class of 1957) and Dr. Karrie (Mrazek) Fitzpatrick (class of 1998) were recognized at a special banquet hosted by the East Aurora Alumni Association. See more on this year’s honorees.

The event began with East High principal Marina Kosak leading a memory-filled tour for families of both our honorees. Attendees then gathered in the school atrium for dinner.

Following dinner, Mr. Mark Brent, son of Bob Brent, accepted the award and spoke on behalf of his father. Dr. Fitzpatrick spoke with gratitude about her time at East High, and the opportunities her education provided her since graduating from East High.   

The event continued with Fitzpatrick and Ms. Jan Brent, Bob’s spouse, unveiling commemorative plaques now on display inside the door #1 entrance of the high school.

The two Tomcats were then recognized, along with their families, between games at the East-West varsity basketball contests.

Congratulations to Bob and Karrie! And special thanks to our attendees, Principal Marina Kosak, Alumni Association President Julia Inostroza, Vice President Saul Olivas, members Blanca Souders, and Debby Weatherington for hosting a memorable banquet to honor their fellow Tomcats.

Dos graduados distinguidos Tomcat fueron reconocidos el 21 de diciembre como los miembros más recientes de los Graduados Distinguidos de la Escuela Secundaria de East Aurora.

El difunto Robert E. “Bob” Brent (clase de 1957) y la Dra. Karrie (Mrazek) Fitzpatrick (clase de 1998) fueron reconocidos en un banquete especial organizado por la Asociación de Graduados de East Aurora. Ver más sobre los homenajeados de este año.

El evento comenzó con la directora Marina Kosak de la East High dando un recorrido lleno de recuerdos para las familias de los homenajeados. Los que asistieron luego se reunieron en el atrio de la escuela para la cena.

Después de la cena, el Sr. Mark Brent, hijo de Bob Brent, acepto el premio y hablo en nombre de su padre. La Dra. Fitzpatrick hablo con gratitud sobre su tiempo en la East High y las oportunidades que su educación le ha brindado desde que se graduó de la East High.
El evento continuó con Fitzpatrick y la Sra. Jan Brent, esposa de Bob, desvelando placas conmemorativas ahora en exhibición en la entrada de la puerta #1 de la escuela secundaria.

Los dos Tomcats fueron reconocidos, junto con sus familias, entre los partidos de East-West de los concursos de basquetbol de Varsity.

¡Felicitaciones a Bob y Karrie! Y un agradecimiento especial a los que asistieron, a la directora Marina Kosak, y a la Asociación de Graduados por organizar un banquete memorable en honor a sus compañeros Tomcats.
