EAHS Seniors Sworn in as Student Board MembersEstudiantes del Último Año de EAHS Prestan Juramento Como Miembros Estudiantiles de la Junta de Educación

East Aurora High School Seniors Kevin Martinez and Karina Villagran were both sworn in as Student Board Members during the October 21, 2024, School Board Meeting. They will serve as representatives of the students to the board, as well as of the board to the students, until the end of their senior year.

Martinez is currently a Cohort Leader of the Upward Bound TRIO Program, a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, the Aurora Youth Council (AYC), and is involved in the Youth Engagement in Philanthropy group (YEP).

“I am writing to enthusiastically recommend Kevin Martinez, a standout student in the Class of 2025. As the current valedictorian, Kevin consistently demonstrates exceptional academic prowess and a deep commitment to his education. His intellectual curiosity and strong work ethic have earned him the respect of his peers and teachers,” expressed Ms. Jennifer Mitchell, Principal at East Aurora High School.

Villagran is a co-host of the Women in STEAM Panel, a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Student Ambassador, Science National Honor Society, Student Athlete Society, a JV Soccer Manager, and a member of the City of Aurora’s Mayor’s Office – Harvard Bloomberg Youth Advisory Board.

“Karina embodies what it means to ‘reach your full potential’ in all aspects of her life—as a student, an athlete, and a member of her community. I have no doubt that she will represent our student body well as a Student Board Representative and as she sets forth after graduation to achieve her postsecondary goals,” shared Tracy Warwick, East Aurora High School Counselor.

Los estudiantes del último año de East Aurora High School Kevin Martinez y Karina Villagran, prestaron juramento como miembros estudiantiles de la Junta de Educación, durante la reunión de la junta escolar del 21 de octubre de 2024. Ellos servirán como representantes de los estudiantes ante la junta, así como de la junta ante los estudiantes, hasta el final de su último año.

Martínez es actualmente líder de cohorte del programa Upward Bound TRIO, miembro de la Sociedad Nacional de Honor, del Consejo Estudiantil, del Consejo Juvenil de Aurora (AYC, por sus siglas en inglés) y participa en el grupo Youth Engagement in Philanthropy (YEP).

“Les escribo para recomendar con entusiasmo a Kevin Martínez, un estudiante destacado de la Clase de 2025. Como estudiante Valedictorian actualmente, Kevin demuestra constantemente una proeza académica excepcional y un profundo compromiso con su educación. Su curiosidad intelectual y su sólida ética de trabajo le han ganado el respeto de sus compañeros y maestros”, expresó la Sra. Jennifer Mitchell, Directora de East Aurora High School.

Villagran es co-anfitriona del Panel de Mujeres en STEAM, miembro del Consejo Estudiantil, de la Sociedad Nacional de Honor, de la Sociedad Nacional de Honor de Ciencias, de la Sociedad de Estudiantes Atletas, encargada de JV fútbol soccer, embajadora estudiantil y miembro de la Oficina del Alcalde de la Ciudad de Aurora – Consejo Asesor Juvenil de Harvard Bloomberg.

“Karina representa lo que significa ‘alcanzar tu máximo potencial’ en todos los aspectos de su vida: como estudiante, atleta y miembro de su comunidad. No tengo ninguna duda de que representará bien a nuestro cuerpo estudiantil como Representante Estudiantil de la Junta de Educación y mientras se dispone a lograr sus objetivos postsecundarios después de su graduación,” compartió Tracy Warwick, consejera de East Aurora High School.
