Future Tomcat Night on March 22Noche para Tomcats del Futuro en Marzo 22

On March 22, East Aurora High School will be hosting Future Tomcat Night for the incoming Class of 2027. Current 8th graders and their families are strongly encouraged to attend the event, which runs from 6 until 7:30 PM. The event in intended to give current district 8th graders an opportunity to get to know the high school; its layout, its programs, and its expectations. Future Tomcat Night is the next step in ensuring that every incoming student at East Aurora High School has the resources and information that they need to be successful.

Over the course of the evening, students and their families will be introduced to the extensive opportunities available to their rising 9th graders. Academic plans and sequencing, and the importance that freshmen year plays into students’ goals for their future, will be discussed. Current 8th graders met with counselors from the high school at the end of the fall semester to pick their classes for the 23/24 school year. All 9th grade students take very similar core academic classes through EA’s Pre-AP program, which will serve as the foundation for their academic success throughout the four years of high school.

Students and their families will also be introduced to EAHS’ Athletic teams, coaches, and programs. Prospective athletes will be able to declare their interest in the various teams. Similarly, there will be representatives from EAHS’ numerous extracurricular clubs and student organizations. Students and their families will also be introduced to opportunities through the Tomcat College and Career Center and other various resources available to all students to support their success.

El 22 de marzo, la Escuela Secundaria del Este de Aurora organizará la Noche Future Tomcat para la Clase entrante de 2027. Se recomienda encarecidamente a los estudiantes actuales de 8.° grado y sus familias que asistan al evento, que se llevará a cabo de 6 a 7:30 p. m. El evento tiene la intención de dar a los estudiantes actuales de 8º grado del distrito la oportunidad de conocer la escuela secundaria; su diseño, sus programas y sus expectativas. Future Tomcat Night es el próximo paso para garantizar que cada estudiante que ingrese a la Escuela Secundaria del Este de Aurora tenga los recursos y la información que necesita para tener éxito.

En el transcurso de la noche, los estudiantes y sus familias serán presentados a las amplias oportunidades disponibles para sus futuros estudiantes de noveno grado. Se discutirán los planes académicos y la secuencia, y la importancia que tiene el primer año en las metas de los estudiantes para su futuro. Los estudiantes actuales de 8.º grado se reunieron con consejeros de la escuela secundaria al final del semestre de otoño para elegir sus clases para el año escolar 23/24. Todos los estudiantes de noveno grado toman clases académicas básicas muy similares a través del programa Pre-AP de EA, que servirá como base para su éxito académico a lo largo de los cuatro años de la escuela secundaria.

Los estudiantes y sus familias también conocerán los equipos, entrenadores y programas atléticos de EAHS. Los posibles atletas podrán declarar su interés en los distintos equipos. Los estudiantes y sus familias también conocerán las oportunidades a través del Centro universitario y profesional de Tomcat y otros diversos recursos disponibles para todos los estudiantes para apoyar su éxito.
