New Members Join the EASD 131 BoardNuevos miembros se unen a la Junta EASD 131

Every few years members of the East Aurora and greater city of Aurora community run for elected seats on District 131’s Board of Education. Individuals may hail from a variety of professional and educational backgrounds but all share a common passion for serving the student and family communities of East Aurora.

This spring five seats were up for election on East Aurora’s Board of Education. These will join members Annette Johnson and Dan Barreiro.

We are pleased to announce the new and incumbent members as listed: Incumbents Juan Sifuentes, Alex Arroyo, Bruce Schubert and new members Judd Lofchie and Saul Olivas.

Newly elected and incumbent members were sworn in on Monday, May 1 at this month’s Board of Education meeting.

Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Norrell thanked the board as well as the outgoing board members for their continued support over the years and for making sure that East Aurora continues on the path towards Excellence.

Earlier in the month the Board of Education was invited in to share their thoughts on a few questions which was used to highlight their accomplishments over the years.

“We wanted to share with the community the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of this board and we wanted to pay tribute and reflect on the quality of their work” said Norrell.

Cada dos años miembros de la comunidad de East Aurora y de la gran ciudad de Aurora se postulan para los puestos elegidos en la Junta de Educación del Distrito 131. Los individuos pueden provenir de una variedad de profesiones, pero todos comparten una pasión común por servir a las comunidades de los estudiantes y las familias de East Aurora.

Esta primavera se elegían cinco puestos en la Junta de Educación de East Aurora. Ellos se unirán a los miembros actuales Annette Johnson y Dan Barreiro.

Es un placer anunciar a los miembros nuevos y titulares que figuran en la lista: Los miembros titulares Juan Sifuentes, Alex Arroyo, Bruce Schubert y los nuevos miembros Judd Lofchie y Saul Olivas.

Los miembros recién elegidos y los miembros titulares juraron sus cargos el lunes 1 de mayo en la reunión de la Junta de Educación.

La Superintendente Dra. Jennifer Norrell agradeció a la junta, así como a los miembros de la junta saliendo por su continuo apoyo a lo largo de los años y por asegurarse de que East Aurora continúe en el camino hacia la Excelencia.

A principios de mes se invitó a la Junta de Educación a compartir sus opiniones sobre algunas cuestiones que se utilizaron para destacar sus logros a lo largo de los años.

“Queríamos compartir con la comunidad el trabajo, la dedicación y los logros de esta junta y queríamos rendir homenaje y reflejar la calidad de su trabajo”, dijo Norrell.
