Spring Band PerformanceSpring Band Performance

 There was a full house in the gym for the annual Music In Our Schools band concert on Thursday, March 16th, 2023.  The Simmons Bands delivered a great show!
 
The 6th grade band started the night with performances of “Parade of the Palominos March” by David Shaffer; “Let the Journey Begin” by James Swearigen; “The Big Three:  Bach, Beethoven, Brahms (arranged by John O’Reilly); and “Blue Note Rock” by Sandy Feldstein and John O’ Reilly.
 
The 7th grade band continued the evening with “March of the Hyperion Guards” by Robert Sheldon; “African Journey” by Brian Balmages; “The Mohawk Trail” by Anne McGinty (featuring flautist Dione Andonaegui);  Walt Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” arranged by Michael Sweeney; and M. C. Freedom’s and  J. DeKnight’s “We’re Gonna Rock Around the Clock” arranged by Gerald Sebesky.    
 
The 8th grade band concluded a spectacular concert with performances of “Gateway March” by Eric Osterling; “Corps of Discovery” by William Owens; Jacque Offenbach’s “Can-Can” arranged by Andrew Baleant; and Mel Leven’s “Cruella De Vil” from Walt Disney’s 101 Dalmatians arranged by Eric Osterling.
