Registration for Summer Driver’s Education will take place on Saturday, April 13 in East High Atrium. Senior registration will begin at 9:00 a.m;  Junior registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.;  Sophomore registration will begin at 10:00 am. A lab fee of $100 will be due at registration. Summer Driver’s Ed will have a maximum of 208 students. 

All registered students will be required to attend a MANDATORY four-day Secretary of State procedure to pay the $20 fee, take permit test, eye test, and complete application, to obtain Illinois DMV Learners Permit.  If you miss this session you will be removed from the summer programThis process will be in the EAHS cafeteria from 3:15 to 4:45 on May 6, 7, 8, and 9.

Summer Drivers Ed with be offered Monday through Friday, June 4th through July 9th. There are two sessions to choose from, either 8 – 10 a.m., or 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Attendance is MANDATORY.  Any student who misses one class will be given the opportunity to make the class up.  Any student who misses TWO classes will automatically fail the class and will be dropped from the program.  There is NO REFUND for students who are dropped due to attendance issues. 

To be eligible to take Summer Driver’s Education, a student:

  • Must have earned Sophomore or status or higher (5.5 credits) by the end of the 18/19 school year
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age by May 6th, 2019.
  • Must have passed 8 classes during the 19/19 school year
  • Cannot have any automobile moving violations or court dates.
