Three Tomcats Honored for Outstanding Speeches on OptimismThree Tomcats Honored for Outstanding Speeches on Optimism

On Saturday, April 28th 2018, three East Aurora High School students (from Left to right; Angel Zepeda-10th grade, Alejandro Guerrero – 9th grade and Vanessa Montalvo – 11th grade) competed in a Communication Contest at the state level for the Oswegoland Optimist Club. They were accompanied by their families, sign interpreter Julia Johnson and teacher Carrie Snyder to the contest which was held in Bloomington, Normal. Each student received a medal and certificate for their outstanding speeches on the topic “Where are my roots of Optimism”. 1st place winner, Vanessa Montalvo, received a college scholarship for $2,500 which will be sent to her college of choice when she graduates from high school. This was an amazing experience for the students who showcased their hard work and talents!
